ORCHARDS, FARMS & MARKETS

Beiersdorfer Orchard

Guilford, Indiana

Located on 75 acres in Guilford, Beiersdorfer Orchard is owned and operated by Hilda Beiersdorfer and family. Here you will nd rows and rows of fruit trees where the apples are picked and washed before selling. Some are processed into cider and apple butter. The farm market has a variety of items for sale, including homegrown apples, peaches and plums, along with products for canning. Because the Beiersdorfers are able to store the apples, the orchard makes cider year-round. Tours for children and adults are also available. Business Hours at Beiersdorfer Orchard: Monday – Saturday, 9am – 6pm; Sunday, 1pm – 6pm

Busse’s Farm

Aurora, Indiana

Margaret and Wayne Busse are the owners of Busse’s Farm, 7096 State Route 48, Aurora. The farm o ers
a wide variety of bedding plants for purchase, including 19 di erent varieties of tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, eggplant and herbs. In the fall, choose from approximately 2,500 pumpkins and 500 gourds, or pick from the farm’s vast selection of mums. Business hours: April 1-November 1; 9 am – dark. Busse’s Farm recommends you call before coming to ensure they are open.

Crosby’s Orchard

Aurora, Indiana

Lawrenceburg, IN • 812-537-9730 Family-owned and operated, Crosby’s Orchard offers fresh market apples, pears and locally-raised honey from approximately mid-July until mid-December at their roadside stand at 16923 Scenic Drive, off Highway 48 in Lawrenceburg. The orchard was started as Frank Crosby’s retirement project in 1988. After his passing, the family continues to operate the orchard with son Jeff leading the effort. Brother Steve maintains extensive honey bee apiaries nearby and has locally-raised and harvested honey available at the roadside stand. Over the years white peaches, Seckel pears, Honey Sweet pears and Asian pears have been added to the mix. The orchard’s full list of apple varieties is available by calling the orchard directly. Business hours: Mid-July through Mid-December; 10am-6pm. After weather turns too cold (mid-November until mid-April) apples are available by appointment while supplies last.

Phillips Berry Patch

New Alsace, Indiana

Phillip’s Berry Patch can be found at 9429 York Ridge Road in New Alsace. Owner Darlene Phillips has a variety of items depending on season, including berries, pumpkins, gourds and mums. Business hours vary according to season, please call before visiting.

Randolphs Farm

Moores Hill, Indiana

Southeast Indiana’s newest farm property, Randolphs Farm, was established in 2016 and is located on almost 58 acres outside of Dillsboro. This working farm includes a variety of animals with green grass, pasture and roam to roam. The animals are healthy, happy and enjoy sunshine, shade, ponds, water holes and more. The farm grows and sells their own produce. Products they don’t grow come from within a 30-mile radius of the farm to keep it local. Visit the Farm Store (or shop online) for a large selection of items such as fresh produce, farm-raised meats, baked goods, eggs, raw honey, soaps, lotions, lip balms, tinctures, fresh garlic, jams and more. Farm tours are also available by appointment, or check out their field trips and summer camps. Business hours: Mon., 11am-7pm; Fri., 1-7pm; Sat. & Sun., 11am-5pm. Salatin’s Orchard

Moores Hill, Indiana

Donna and Richard Salatin started their orchard in 1984 as a hobby. It has since grown into a full-time business. Located on Chesterville Road in Moores Hill, Salatin’s Orchard grows and sells 24 varieties of apples. The Salatins also make their own cider. Berries, pears, winter squash, honey, apple butter, jams, jellies, and sorghum also are grown or produced and sold at Salatin’s, depending on season. Open Mon. – Sun., 10 am – 7 pm.

SPECIALTY SPIRITS

Logan, Indiana

Don Stutz planted his first vines in 2007 and continues to add vines every year. Currently he has Concord, Chancellor, Muscadine, Cayuga White, Niagara, Catawba and Traminette growing on the property. In addition to wine tasting, enjoy pre-arranged painting parties or purchase wine- making supplies. Open April-Dec, Friday 4-8pm; Saturday 1-8pm; Sunday 1-8pm. Other days by appointment or by chance.

Aurora, Indiana

Great Crescent Brewery is located on a sweeping curve of the Ohio River in historic Aurora, IN. Family owned and operated – Dan and Lani Valas started Great Crescent Brewery in November 2008 in a small storefront on 2nd Street in Aurora, IN. Since these humble beginnings they have expanded into a historic building built in 1843 which served as the warehouse for the Thomas and JW Ga Distillery. At Great Crescent Brewery, a variety of their own specialty brewed beers are always on tap for sampling – then enjoy a pint of your favorite along with your choice of one of their great meals especially prepared to compliment that one-of-a-kind special crafted beer taste. Great Crescent Brewery beer is also packaged for you to take home in convenient sizes. Tours of the brewery can be scheduled with the brewmaster.

Sunman, Indiana

Established in 2013, Holtkamp Winery is a family owned, boutique winery o ering a variety of wines to suit many tastes. Doug Holtkamp started making wine in 2002 which stemmed from his love and enjoyment of drinking wine with friends and family. By teaming up with Je McHaan, who has over 30 years in the wine making and grape growing industry, they combine their knowledge and experience to create a great quality and selection of wines. Sample Holtkamp wines at one of the many events they will be attending this year.
